The Relationship with Our Belly

There are times when the image we have of our body becomes distorted, when every curve, every fold becomes a source of worry and rejection. For many, the belly is often at the center of this conflict: we resent it, we hide it, we try to control it, to transform it. In this internal battle, we end up becoming our own critic, sometimes even our own aggressor.

It doesn’t matter where this distorted image comes from – perhaps from the media, from fashion, from other people’s comments, or from relationships marked by painful experiences. What matters today is to relearn how to look at ourselves with kindness, to free ourselves from this weight imposed by others. We don’t have to carry this burden, and we don’t deserve it.

For me, this transformation happened during motherhood. This belly, once an object of conflict, became an ally, a strength, a living space. By creating Holybelly, I wanted to offer this space for reflection and self-love to everyone, so that it becomes possible to reconnect with your body and ask yourself the right questions: Who is my priority? How can I make peace with myself?

“We are the only person with whom we are certain to spend our whole life”

Why Reconnect with Your Belly?

In our society, it is easy to look outside for well-being, but ultimately, true support is within ourselves. We are the only person we will spend our entire lives with, and learning to support ourselves, to love ourselves and to listen to our needs is building a solid foundation for well-being. This connection to the belly is a first step towards this emotional autonomy.

Haptonomy: Connecting with Your Baby and Nurturing Emotional Security

In this search for connection to oneself, haptonomy becomes a powerful way to extend this reconnection, this time towards the link between parents, family and the unborn child. Haptonomy offers gentle and early communication with the baby, a sensitive dialogue through touch, which establishes from the first moments a feeling of security and trust.

By placing your hands on the belly, listening and touching with a benevolent intention, you begin to build a space of emotional security, where the child feels welcomed, recognized, and loved. It is a practice that goes far beyond gestures, because it creates a strong emotional bond and provides feelings of well-being and appeasement for both the parent and the baby.

Haptonomy thus becomes the logical continuation of a reconnection to oneself: by taking care of one's well-being and one's own needs, the parent makes himself available to connect authentically with his child. This connection allows to transmit to the baby a feeling of inner security that will follow him in his life, helping him to become a more whole, more conscious being, and deeply anchored in solid emotional foundations.

Holybelly was born from this desire to offer support that promotes both inner connection and the development of the parent-child bond, to cultivate lasting emotional security and well-being together.

The Microbiota and Nutrition: Nourishing the Mind-Belly Connection

Holy Fact : Did you know that our gut is often called our “second brain”? I’m sure it is—it’s a common language today. But the connection goes way beyond imagery. The microbiome, the community of billions of bacteria living in our gut, influences not only our digestion, but also our mood, emotions, and even our immune system.

During my pregnancy, I began to think deeply about the impact of my diet on both me and my child. And when my child developed food allergies, I became aware of how these reactions can be linked to our emotional state, sometimes even exacerbated by stress or anxiety. By exploring this connection between the womb and the mind, I saw how our diet can soothe our bodies while influencing our inner well-being.

At Holybelly, I support you in nourishing your microbiota and strengthening this essential connection. Through intuitive eating, we work together to soothe and balance both your belly and your mind, taking care of this inner space that supports your overall and emotional health.

Deep Listening Exercise: Gently Connecting to Your Belly

Lie down comfortably in a quiet place. Close your eyes if this helps you relax more, then take a few deep breaths and release the tension in your body.

Gently place a light, soft hand on your lower belly. Take a moment to feel the touch, the cold or the warm, and the lightness of your hand, as if it were listening to the deep sensations of this part of you.

Try to focus on what your hand feels: the subtle movements, the tensions, or even a sense of calm that emerges. With time and practice, you may feel a response from your belly, a sort of silent dialogue between your hand and your inner self. This moment of deep listening anchors you in the present moment and creates a real calm, it helps reduce stress and reconnect fully with yourself.
